Welcome to Tyneside Cannabis Club, a community supporting and connecting people interested in Medical Cannabis across the North East of England.

Our aim is to provide a welcoming, supportive and educational community focused on Medical Cannabis, harm reduction, responsible use and wellbeing.

Since 1st November 2018, Medical Cannabis has been legally available in the UK when prescribed by a specialist doctor registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).

Is Medical Cannabis for you?

Eligibility is assessed individually by a specialist clinician. Generally, you may be considered if you:

  • Have a diagnosed medical condition.
  • Have previously tried at least two conventional treatments for your condition.
  • Are not pregnant and do not have a history of psychosis or schizophrenia.

Previous treatments may include prescribed medication, talking therapies, physiotherapy, surgery or other treatments recommended by your healthcare professional.

Meeting these criteria does not guarantee a prescription. A specialist clinician will make the final decision based on your individual circumstances and medical history.

We provide guidance and support to individuals who may require a prescription but feel unsure, vulnerable or uncertain about navigating the process.
